  1. Go outside.

Understandably, 62.16% of our survey participants revealed their mental health deteriorates around assessment periods. Focusing on completing the task, it is easy for us to remain inside and become isolated. This approach may however negatively impact your results.

Step outside, enjoy the glorious weather, even for 30 minutes. Just give yourself a break!

  1. Watch a movie

Watching movies is the perfect way to relax and reduce stress because your focus is on the film not your ‘to do list’. Even better, invite a friend over and watch the film whilst consuming endless amounts of popcorn.  Here are our 3 top favorite Asian films we highly recommend:

  • Crazy Rich Asians- Currently showing in the movies, this romantic tale centers around three wealthy Chinese families and a problematic wedding.
  • Golden Job- A tale of Hong Kong gangs.
  • Project Gutenburg- A story about how the Hong Kong police hunt a counterfeiting gang.
  1. Party, party, party

Looking for a party to reduce stress?  UNSW HKSA is hosting the Alex Fong’s Performance Night. Held on the 4th of October at OPM Sydney, this particular event is a perfect chance to make friends and enjoy the live performance of the Hong Kong singer.

  1. Get enough rest and sleep.

Enjoy your sleep whilst you can! 70.27% of respondents rated sleep as one of their top stress relivers. We, therefore, strongly encourage our sleep deprived students to turn off their phone and hit the hay!
