Hello everyone! We hope you are enjoying your mid-semester break so far! As discussed in the previous post, the majority of our international Hong Kong students struggle with language barriers when commencing their studies in Australia. Therefore, in this blog post, the H.M. Team would like to recommend a few services provided by UNSW’s Student Development Centre, in aim of assisting these students to overcome such challenges.
Hosted fortnightly on Thursdays (as of Week 2), this casual session is the perfect opportunity for international students to celebrate diversity and practice their English, over tea and snacks! Commencing on Week 10 (4th of October), we encourage you all to attend and meet new friends!
When: Thursday (Fortnightly from Week 2)
Time: 2:30pm – 4:00pm
Location: Roundhouse
This program allows UNSW students from Australia and overseas to meet and exchange language and cultural insights, in a relaxed environment. Participants are matched with partners that speak their language of choice for reciprocal learning. Everyone is welcomed to join!

Targeted towards the universities’ international students, this 3-day seminar focuses on improving the English language skills of its participants. This session will also provide insights into Australian workplace practices and basic interview training.
